We take for granted how it is to look our best during the spring and summer months. We’ve all got that natural glow from the sun, we’re eager to hit the gym to get the beach body, and we’ve just got a natural spring in our step. When the weather begins to turn, however, everything becomes a little bit more complicated. The good times of the summer have passed, and it’s going to be oh so long until they’re back! That doesn’t, however, mean that you have to accept less. It just means you need to work a bit harder for it. Below, we’ll tell you what you need to do.
Get Your Exercise
We know how it goes when it’s cold outside. The weather is unappealing, and the only thing that sounds good is to curl up on the couch, eat junk food, and binge-watch your favorite TV shows. But imagine if you do that for months on end, you’re not going to feeling or looking too good, and it won’t take long for the changes to set in! So while it’s easy not always the easiest task in the world, it’s worthwhile making an effort to visit the gym and work up a sweat. You’ll feel good on the inside, and look good on the outside.
Into the Outdoors
We tend to think of fall and winter as having terrible weather, but this isn’t really true. It’s cold, sure, but terrible? No. The best weather, to some people at least, is when it’s cold but sunny. When that weather arrives - indeed, any sunny day - make sure you’re getting out into outdoors. The sunshine might not give you a tan like you’d get during summer, but it’ll keep your skin looking healthy. Plus, being outside is an excellent mood-booster, so you’ll be happier, too.
Top Up the Wardrobe
When the weather gets just too miserable to be outside, you’ll be hitting up the local restaurants, hosting dinner parties, and all-around enjoying the finer things in life. After all, you don’t have easy-going nature of summer to fall back on; you’ve got to make something happen! To look your best during these outings, make sure you’re topping up your wardrobe with new clothing. Take a look at Filly Flair, and invest in a dress, or perhaps a warming sweater, or maybe a new skirt. You’ll look your dazzling best when you’re out there, and knowing you look great will wash away those chilly winter blues.
Skin and Makeup
Our skin takes a battering when the weather is cold and the wind is blowing hard. As such, you’ll be well-served by developing a skin and makeup routine that scrubs away that dead skin and looks your skin looking fresh.
Bring the Color
Finally, remember to bring the color! It’s dark enough out there; there’s no reason to add to the darkness. Instead of those blacks and greys, bring the orange, purple, and other popping colors. You’ll be brightening up your outfits, and other people’s day!
