Welp guys it’s been a minute.
I literally have not felt like myself for MONTHS! I haven’t felt motivated, inspired, creative, or anything like myself. I kind of just felt stuck.
It all started with my new position at work which doesn’t allow me to have as much energy to do anything but wake up, go to work, eat, and sleep. Talk about BORING, ROUTINE, ADULTING, and STRESS! Meanwhile life continued to happen and I had to continue with the flow of things. I took a break from The Millennial Wives Club and started branding myself on Instagram as According to Tia. I also went through a rollercoaster of emotions about my marriage, recovered from surgery, started a new job, and implemented new lifestyle changes to better my health. As a result, I started therapy and my life is now back on track.
Nonetheless I’m still handling a lot of different things but I have a better handle on them and I’m in a better head space. Currently, I still work full time my 9-6 job, still full time married, still Founder of the Growing Millennial Wives Club community, full time blogger of The Millennial Wives Club, full time daughter, full time friend, I’M FULL TIME EVERYTHING lol.
Some days I really don’t know HOW I do it!
One thing I have learned with all of the interviews I’ve done is that I am not the only one in the world doing a balancing act. That’s the thing about being a millennial wife today. We have our normal life that pertains to our day to day with our husbands and children, then we have our careers whether it be a 9 to 5 or full time entrepreneur and sometimes both, then we have our social relationships whether it be our friends, networking events, our customers, etc. All require some time of full time commitment.
Then we have social media portraying the ease of it all. IT’S NOT EASY! If you have moments where you need to disappear to get it together DO IT! Social media has me all screwed up sometimes.
Is it just me or does everybody seem to have it all together?! Then we have motivational quotes telling us “Somebody is more busy and Still doing it”.
Well KUDOS to you sis! lol My next question, HOW ARE YOU STILL DOING IT THOUGH?! Rewind and give us the magic formula of how this is happening so we can continue to do what we want to do while balancing what we need to do.
No but seriously though, there really are people who are “more busy” but they also have more help. They have a whole team behind them and supporting them in the areas that require more commitment. They prioritize and make time for what they want. For instance celebrities, like Beyonce, most likely have a baby sitter on deck, glam squad, managers, etc. This allows for time with their husband and career. Most times the couples are in the same industry so they get invited to the same events or collaboration opportunities with each other. It’s a balance, they are still busy, and they still do what they want to do. So that’s all we have to do right? Find our balance!
Our balance doesn’t look like their balance. Heck, my balance will not look like your balance. I had to learn that myself. We are all balancing but we have to balance according to what fits our lifestyle. You can do whatever you want to do, you just have to plan and prioritize. We all can’t afford a team of experts to help us run our lives BUT we owe it to ourselves to not give up on the things we love and care because we are overwhelmed with life. Take a break and come back to it.
