MWC: Give us an overview of the evolution of Jennifer in regards to the woman you were and the woman you are today. What advice would you give to your younger self?
JENNIFER: Yikes! Question number one wasted no time huh? I have always been creative and a quick thinker. I have always had outer confidence and could command any room that I entered with a quick joke and smile. On the inside, though younger Jennifer was very insecure. I suffered from body confidence issues and a slight stutter, what I lacked in inner confidence I made up for with an over the top personality. It took me a few heartaches, soul searching moments , serious self-reflection and an amazing husband to get to the Jennifer you see today. I would tell my younger self “ Girl you are bomb AF just as you are! Live the life that is in your heart and you will go far, don’t let self doubt hold you back because baby girl once you finally hit the ground running you can’t and won’t be stopped”
MWC: How long have you been married? How did you and your husband meet? How did you know you were ready to be someone’s wife?
JENNIFER: I have been married for 8 years. We got married July 27, 2010. We met on MySpace girl! He slid in my inbox trying to be my top friend LOL. We legit “met” online on a Saturday, first date that next day and have pretty much been together since. We dated about a year and a half before we got married. I knew I was ready because my husband has always been so intentional with his love for me that it was the natural progression of things. I could not picture my life without him.
MWC: Tell us about your business “Just Elope Dallas”. What inspired/motivated you to start it?
JENNIFER: On Tuesday July 22, 2010 my boyfriend asked me to be his wife. I was surprised, elated and so excited! Fast forward five days later and we were standing in the Court House getting married! My mom took the pictures on her cell phone and my husband had on the same clothes he proposed in. I was looking really chic in my $15 white linen dress from Wal-Mart. This should have been the happiest day of my life, I was about to marry the man of my dreams and our forever would officially start. RIGHT? Not quite, I felt rushed and just another number in City Hall. To top it all off my now husband left for deployment the exact same day we were married for 10 straight months! Talk about intense. I said no worries I will keep myself busy by planning the most EPIC wedding EVER!!.... I quickly learned that my definition of EPIC meant expensive, time consuming and stressful!
Every time I would start planning I would become overwhelmed and frustrated trying to put together the wedding of my dreams and maintain a realistic budget, not to mention I was worried about my sweet husband overseas. Once he came home I was no closer to planning a wedding than I was before he left. Years passed, our love grew and so did our family (we are the proud parents of two little boys) but I never stopped “trying” to plan a wedding. Finally I decided that I was done planning and that I wanted to make getting married simple and affordable for other couples so that they did not have to stress and in that moment Just Elope Dallas was born. We focus on what is important – Getting you married without a single worry!

MWC: Why should someone consider a Pop Up Wedding, aside from financial reasons? How does a couple know if this is right for them?
JENIFER: If you are a couple that does not want any wedding planning stress then we are for you. We have simplified things so that you do not have to do any thinking, just show up!
MWC: On top of being a wife and a business woman, you are a mother of 2 sons. How do you find balance in life’s demands while taking care of everyone’s needs including your own? How do you prioritize and preserve your energy?
JENNIFER: I get this question often and my answer is always the same. Something is not going to get your full attention every day. Period. Somedays the kids may need to eat peanut butter jelly sandwiches for dinner because I have a deadline and I cannot cook, maybe I have to move around a client call because my son has a Boy Scout meeting and that is the priority. You have to get comfortable with the fact that it is impossible to do it all. It is impossible to be all things to everyone at the same time. Sometimes the shit hits the fan and you just gotta say F$#@ it, quickie for the husband against the bathroom counter and a pizza for the kids tonight because momma gotta work.
MWC: What’s the most unique/cool or “interesting” request you’ve had thus far from a bride and groom for their pop up wedding or elopement?
JENNIFER: We married two couples at The State Fair of Texas, Pro basketball game and live on Good Morning Texas! Those were super fun; I am dying for someone to let us marrying them at Target. The most “interesting” request would be at a prison.
MWC: What have been the pros and cons of working with your husband? Any rules you all have created to keep the peace professionally and personally.
JENNIFER: The pros are that I have an in house person to bounce ideas off who will be brutally honest with me so that helps a ton! The cons is that it is easy to get caught up in “work” and not enough “us”. The best rule we have is that when it comes to the creative piece of our business is that I have the majority vote because I have never led us wrong yet. ☺
MWC: What can we find Jennifer doing on her day off?
JENNIFER: Off day?
MWC: How do you motivate yourself daily?
JENNIFER: I focus on how I can be better than I was the day before. I am my only completion. I strive to stunt on the old me daily. What I did yesterday will never be good enough for tomorrow’s Jennifer.
